Congratulations to the graduating lab members Adam (B.S.), Holly (B.S./M.S.), Matthew (Ph.D.), Mike (B.S./M.S.), Ronson (B.S) and Stephanie (B.S). 
Matthew successfully defended his thesis on May 29th and has become the first Ph.D. recipient in the NPP lab.  Congratulations Dr. Cathell and Dr. Schauer! 
Valerie has been awarded a GK-12 Fellowship for 2008-2009.
Jessica presented the poster "Butterfly Wings, Crustacean Shells, and Squid Pens: Studies on Chitin Sources" at the 2008 ACS Mid-Atlantic Regional Meeting.
Jessica and Dr. Schauer’s article “Cross-Linking Chitosan Nanofibers” is one of the most accessed articles in Biomacromolecules in 2007.
Jessica has been selected to attend the “58th Meeting of Nobel Laureates” in Lindau, Germany this summer.  
Eric Brenner, a B.S./M.S. student has joined the lab.  Eric won a $1500 undergraduate scholarship at the ASM International Liberty Bell meeting. 
Holly recently won 4 awards.  They are: 
2nd place in the ASM Chapter Graduate Student Poster Competition
Undergraduate award for "Research in Physical Science and Engineering (other than Biological)" at the Drexel University Research Day competition

MSE undergraduate research award
Holly will be attending graduate school at Harvard University for bioengineering starting Fall 2008. 
Matthew has accepted an Assistant Professor position  at The College of New Jersey in the Department of Technological Studies starting Fall 2008.
Holly has been awarded the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
